I came across my old journal in my bottom file drawer. It's been months since I've written anything in it.
I thumbed back through the months and years, all the hits and misses.
As I read, I noticed that 95% of the initial entries that followed each new break of a few blank pages, were yet another attempt to lose weight. A date, a scale reading and yet another re-statement of a weight loss effort.
The last journal entry was in October, just 4 months ago.
The weight recorded there was the highest I'd ever been in my life. But what was different about this journal entry is that it wasn't all about how disappointed I was in myself, and then proceed to beat myself up. Rather, it was a SparkCoach assignment to write down my list of Why's I wanted to succeed, followed by a motivational quote.
So that's the reason I haven't been writing in my journal! That's when I began my SparkPeople blogging!
It's amazing to look back to see my growth . . . and look in the mirror and see my loss!
