Lots of snow

Thursday, February 21, 2013

I haven't seen this much snow since we first move out here to the country. That first year we were here we had a huge snow storm and the drifts were so deep that the kids dug snow forts in them. It is beautiful to look out and see nothing but white and try not to think of the mess when it all melts. DH is stuck in the drive with his 4x4 so no one here is going anywhere today. I think that he is going to try and dig it out after while. He got into a drift so deep that he was pushing snow with the bumper so now digging is the only way out.

We measured 15" in our driveway and that was not a drift. Have a snowblower, so we got it cleared. I got in some exercise cleaning off the steps. Then we got a small amount later in the afternoon. I hope we are done for awhile! It is pretty though!

Between now and Sunday night they're predicting we're going to get between 20-40 inches of snow. Since the season started we've received 243 inches of snow - about 20 feet. SO glad we have a snowblower!

And on the Chicago suburbs, my twon 6 year old grandaughters are so anxious for lots of snow to make their own snow cowboy. Two years ago they did the normal snow man, last year they wanted a snow queen and now the cowboy. Hope your DH gets around and get his truck out.

I heard from a friend in KC about an hour ago and she said KCI had 11 inches then & still snowing. Stay safe!
