Went to the gym last night for the first time in years and I actually enjoyed myself. Seeing as how it has been forever and a day since I've done any excessive activity, I took it easy and just went for 30 minutes. And I kicked butt on the Elliptical and burned over 300 calories.
About 15 minutes into my workout, my legs started screaming at me to stop. And even though I was listening to music, I was chanting "mind over matter, mind over matter, mind over PAIN!" in my head. And it worked for me. At the 20 minute mark the pain had subsided and I was able to finish the originally planned time frame.
I'm pretty stoked. I know this is a slower process versus some fad diet, but this isn't a diet, its a lifestyle change. I'm re-training my mind and body to be healthy.
Can't wait to hit the gym again tomorrow night!
