Commitment to myself

Thursday, February 21, 2013

I made a commitment to myself last night....NO MORE JUNK! I need to act in accordance with who I am and what I want to be. Eating an ice cream with GMO and dairy ingredients is not who I am...it's simply not. These spur of the moment decisions that I make will not make me feel better emotionally and spiritually and they sure as hell won't get my body matching who I am on the inside. I am making a commitment...a commitment to eat in ways that are true to who I am....vegan (except honey and rare circumstances of eggs).....no more processed foods (jnless it truly is the only option)....enough is enough. I am going to be 29 this year...I swore to myself I would be at goal weight by 30 and compelte an ultra triathlon.....this is absurd! I am only human but I have the power to change these decisions and actions....and while I do a pretty good time most of the time....when I slip I feel awful about it. Which says to me...it isn't worth it! Who's with me?!?!?

With that said....
Be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. ~Max Ehrmann

You can do it!! Just remember if you do slip up doing something don't beat yourself up about it. Dust yourself off and continue on!

I wholeheartedly agree! I also need to commit to doing the things necessary to get the outside to match the inside. Maybe we can talk more about this with our mini team.

Great Blaize, you are right it isn't worth it! May I suggest that if you want to be 100% Vegan (or as close as possible) that you make your whole house Vegan? You and Azali can do it together, she will have her chance for "treats" when she is at school and your moms, but at home she will learn to eat in such a positive and healthy way with you! Bonus there won't be any temptation food in the house? I know easier said then done, but this could be a really great chance?

Great attitude! Seriously... every time I think about swinging by a drive-thru or eating something crappy, I just tell myself how bad I'd feel after. It's so not worth it...

Wow, lots of blogs berate themselves over slipping up, but you are the first one to say it wasn't worth it. Might well be a turning point for you. Good luck.

Good for you. I remember being somewhere they had a buffet of snacks. Someone told an older lady (attractive and thin) that she should eat something. I have never forgotten her response. She said, "I don't eat between meals." It was a simple statement that said a lot about her.

You can do whatever you think you can!
