When I was just starting off driving I had some bad experiences winter driving. On the same day I was in two accidents, no one was hurt, no damage. But I'm pretty sure it's why hate winter driving now.
This winter here, we haven't had as much snow as normal. In fact we've probably had more rain then snow. I'm loving it. Now listen I understand my state is in serious need of snow and all that. I just don't have to like it.
Today for example, I let in plenty of time for work, even with snow. Its so icy here, I mean people were spinning out without going very fast. A moving van decided it was in a hurry and could do the normal speed, it found the hard way you can't do that. I had to hit my brakes, although I wasn't going very fast, to miss him when he tipped over. Boy did he tip, the driver was okay, he got out, I think he was shaken, I know I would be. Then another guy in a great big pick up also thought it could do way above the speed for the weather. He spun out and hit a guard on the side of the road. Truck parts flew everywhere.
None of this includes all the non-accident spinners. I felt like I was playing Mario Cart or something. It was horrible. How hard is it to drive normally, to drive for the weather. I'm not saying go as slow as I do, cause I'm not the best snow driver, or the most confident. But maybe if everyone just slowed down, left a little bit earlier they wouldn't be so rushed.
Sorry I needed to rant and rave, I feel much better.
