Weight Loss & Fitness Contract!

Yesterday i decided to take a step back and re-evaluate my goals. I'm been training for my half marathon and hitting the pavement six to seven times a week, yet the scale is barely budging. It's not as if i don't know why this is happening. I tend to eat my calories that i've burned. NO MORE! So i re-evaluated and decided to make a contract with myself...

I, Vickymariec, hereby promise to lose weight. I'm making this commitment to myself and my Spark Family to make the rest of 2013 the year that i continue to lose weight and keep it off!

Every pound i lose will:
- Improve my energy
- Reduce my bloodpressure
- Improve my sleep
- Decrease my risk of a heart attack
- Decrease my risk of a stroke
- Help prevent Type 2 Diabetes
- Increase life expectancy

I recognize the benefits to my health and commit to:
Burning 5,000 calories a week for a safe weight loss of 1-2.5 pounds per week.

Cardiovascular exercise (walking, running, dancing, boxing) 60-120 minutes, five to seven times a week.

Making better food choices - increasing my intake of fruits and vegetables and reducing my intake of processed foods.

Signing this contract and making the commitment to lose weight means that i will live a healthier life and be provided the chance to spend more time with my family and friends.

I, vickymariec, hereby agree and commit to take the following steps to improve my accountability to myself and increase my chances for weight loss success:

1. I will not let one small slip-up convince me that I'm stupid, worthless, or a lost cause. I will respect myself by refusing to engage in verbal self-abuse, and I will find positive ways to comfort and support myself when I’m having a hard time. Specifically, I will:
a) Look back through old pictures and SEE just how far i've come.
b) Go for a 30 minutes walk.

2. I will not sacrifice my own needs to make other people happy, or do for them what they can and should be doing for themselves. When there is a conflict between my exercise and eating plans and what other people want me to do, I will negotiate to find a reasonable solution that allows me to do what I need to do for myself.

3. I choose to be in charge of my own decisions and behavior. I will not talk, think, or act as if my partner, child, spouse, cravings, or subconscious made me do it. I will ask myself what’s most important to me at that moment and make my decision. If I don’t like the consequences, I will try something different the next time.
