Nice Dinner and the need for morning Blogging.

Thursday, February 21, 2013

Iíve decided I need to get back to blogging in the morning. It seems to get me in a proper mindset for the day (even when I rant) and reading my wonderful Spark friend comments are a great ďpick me upĒ at work. Letís hope I can stick to this.

Last night was fun. I met with a friend that started as a dog training client. I was wonderful to see how BIG Duncan (the puppy) has gotten. Heís a beast and he seems to remember me. She ordered pizza and we just chatted for hours. I needed that. The food could have been better but pizza let us stay in with the dogs, so it was cool.

Iím still not making my daily step goals so I am VERY appreciative of anyone who joins me on the fitbit tracking. I canít help it, I was brought up to be competitive. We lived and breathed base/soft ball. Ranking mean something to me and having some friends that I can ďstep offĒ with will be wonderful. Iím actually looking forward to this weekís report. I normally donít look at it. Being #1 of 1 is kind of redundant!

I also realized this am that my first 5K of the year is only 2 weeks away. I havenít trained for this but I still should be under 35 minutes (thatís about an 11.5 minute mile average). Iíll be happy with 37 minutes or a 12 minute mile average. I can walk a 15 minute mile so I really need to do better than that. This will be my first race with any supporters besides my hubby. Dad has promised to come and my son will be there. That is kind of exciting.

Iím praying the snow holds off tonight. I have been dying to get out for a run with Tazzy. She has given up trying to MAKE me go out. She just lies by the leash hook and sighs. Sorry girl. Not really been good to anyone of late. I know the change is just around the corner. I just NEED spring. Iíll run in rain and heat and wind, snow and ice I just canít seem to do. I can even handle some cold but not the snow and ice. I donít know if Iím just a weather wimp or what but once I get that chill that comes from being out in cold and wet conditions, I canít get warm again. So, the ice has melted for now and if the predicted storm holds off until after 8 (per the weatherman) I should be able to get a 3 mile run in tonight. Woo Hoo!

Ok, Kitty is rambling. Kitty needs to get moving (or at least working). Have an awesome day!.

Warm Wags and Happy Snuffles!!!

Don't know how I got so behind on your blogs! Oh well! You won't even catch me out in ice! Snow maybe, not jogging or running. Ice is dangerous. Just be careful and train as you can. What do they do if it snows on the day of the race?

Wonderful that you had a nice dinner! I can so relate to needing to get back to blogging and reading blogs! I have got to learn to incorporate more of my time to Sparking! The jobs have put a bit of chaos in my life, but I needed to take on the second job so that I had "something" when the tax season ends. So I guess, things will be semi-normal when I am down to 1 job. emoticon

I have subscribed to your blogs so that I can get email alerts to read them. Sorry I have been so scarce lately.

You have been a great inspiration to me!!! Keep sparking!!! emoticon

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you are a TRUE inspiration in all ways. Your energy is contagious, and your committment to fitness, health, SP and your spark friends is awesome. I feel motivated everytime I come by your page. I really appreciate all of your support, I have soooo much to learn from sparkers like you. One step, one day at a time, I'm on my way.............and it's lovely ladies like you that make it possible for those that struggle like me...........you give us hope that it can be done, and it will be done if we don't give up. Thank you!! And YAY for the 5 K, it's been a long time since I've done one, it always feels sooo good!

Not a winter person myself. I would never have taken up walking during the winter if I didn't have a goal. (My own 5k). Have fun with yours. Morning blogging is the best.

I have to remind myself that we are no where near as freezing cold as it is where you are, but when there is any moisture in the air when it's cold it seems to go straight to the bones and nothing will warm you. I seem to do fine as long as I dont chill. Once I do it's all over from there.
But, I did manage to take the dogs out last night after 30 mins on the treadmill. I swear I will work myself up to a 5k. Started day 1 on my app last night.
