Weight Loss Weirdness and Foot Update

Thursday, February 21, 2013

Today's *Official* weigh in results..............167.0
I was hoping to stay under 169!

This is 110 pounds gone!

This is 39% of my start weight gone!

It's been 21 months!

Because my weight loss had slowed (and I still take responsibility for my lack of focus that direction), I didn't expect to get here until April for my birthday.

Too much thinking

After the weekend's milestone (weighing less than hubby), I went back through my tracking to see if I could find any clues about what I should continue doing. As expected there aren't any real a-has from my data. I could go on and on about what I looked at and a few mildly interesting tidbits, but overall there isn't much there beyond shadows of hints.

Stop trying to figure it out and just keep trying to do what I know I should do

My weight will probably go up once I get back to my regular routine. I'm prepared for that, but I hope I can stay within this 110 pounds lost milestone.

Some of the weight loss is likely muscle, but it shouldn't be that much from what I've read. And I'm doing some upper body and core work to maintain as much as I can.

I'm very-very lucky that perfection isn't required for me to lose weight and I hope that doesn't change. (I know not everyone is so lucky).

Bodies are extremely complex (nothing new here). While calories in/out plays a huge role, it's only one of many-many factors that contribute to weight loss.

What I did two weeks ago could be more of a factor in today's result than what I did yesterday.

It's about being consistent over the long haul

Getting rid of the last 10 pounds (estimate) may be a challenge, but it will be harder to maintain my weight loss forever. I will beat the odds. I will keep my weight off forever.

Foot update
Some of you have sent mail messages about my foot. THANK YOU for checking on me! I got my stitches out this week - yay! I was very focused on keeping my foot up to get rid of the swelling - or the stitches would have had to wait. It (the bone area) hurts right now. I think it sort of growing-pains. Yesterday was tough but I maybe the trip to the doc wore it out. I thought I was going to get to go back to the gym when the stitches were out, but the doc wants me to wait another week. Then I can go IF it doesn't hurt and if the inflammation stays down. I'm very tired from not sleeping well - I think due to a lack of activity to tire me out and hormone nuttiness, not to mention attempting to sleep on my back with my foot in a box. So for now, my foot is up and on ice. And a special shout out to my husband for making it as easy as possible to stay off my feet!

    ***************** Woooooo~ Hooooooo!!!!! ****************

    ******** *1*1*0* pounds !!! *******************

    ****************** 39%!!! **************************

uz, this is So super fantastic!!!! I am SO excited for you, what a great new milestone!!!!!!!!!!

You will *absolutely* lose those last 10lbs and you WILL keep them off, *forever*!!
Believe fully in yourself, and keep doing what you've been doing and you have it made!

You are so right, it really is about consistency over the long haul that matters. The best plan for me is to make as many good choices as possible. It is not perfection -- but it's good enough to keep me where I want to be... and make advances as well.

I can't imagine sleeping with my foot in a box!! I know I toss/turn move all night. Hubby has plantar fasciitis right now and is having to wear that special sock at night & I know that is *very* uncomfortable -- but nothing compared to what you are dealing with!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger! You will be super-hero strong pretty soon!! emoticon emoticon

I hope you don't get tired of hearing 'congratulations!' and 'I'm so proud of you!' because those phrases spring to mind just about every time I come to your page!

So glad your foot is doing well, even with the growing pains. The wait may seem like it's taking forever before you can get back to 'normal' again, but keep reminding yourself it's more important to heal well and properly than to rush it and risk a set-back.
