Rest day

Yesterday was payroll interface and I left work too tired and stressed for even the Gentle Yoga class. So - I listened to my body, went home, and went straight to bed. I dozed for an hour or so until Ben got home, then we made a simple dinner and went back to bed.

The rest paid off - I woke up at 5:30am feeling refreshed and spent a half an hour at the gym on my Couch-To-5K workout. Came home, prayed and meditated for a bit and got to work early feeling renewed in body and soul.

"Gladden the soul of your servant, O LORD, for it is to you whom I life up my soul."
Psalm 86:4

We don't have to take on the day in our own strength. We can lift up our souls to our Almighty and Everlasting Father and he will gladden and renew our hearts - like a morning sunrise.

    Great job listening to your body and getting the extra rest you needed. Sometimes I find myself pushing through a workout or walk just because it's on my schedule and then I end up feeling worse the next day.

    Very well stated. I had a spiritual/mental renewal day yesterday too and I'm back and ready to go this morning.
