I've been in Los Angeles for work this week; I work for a national association that represents public school superintendents. In order to meet my goal of 1000 fitness minutes in February, I have to use the hotel gym to work out in the mornings. The time zone gives me an advantage, since I've been going to bed early and getting up early as well.
Yesterday the gym was full but not packed. I saw a co-worker there. He was wearing tube socks with the stripe around the top, which I found pretty endearing.
Today begins the first official day of the conference and the gym was much more crowded at 5:30AM PST than it was yesterday. In addition to seeing 2 co-workers, the outgoing National Superintendent of the Year was on the bike next to my elliptical machine, and there were many more people who looked like superintendents all around me. I was very encouraged. :)
And today we will name the new Superintendent of the Year!
