I wanted to take off some weight for vacation--an External Motivation. I seesawed between the same 3-5 pounds, up-down, up-down. So by the External measure, I guess it was a FAIL.
But my habits and lifestyle have improved. So the Internal measure was a positive, and I'll call that SUCCESS in establishing good habits.
Internal measurement is more significant and more likely to be sustainable.
I have another External Motivator coming up: a major family event in mid-April. By maintaining the good habits I built, I will probably see scale-weight results. My Internal Motivation will lead to external results. Or, the results might all be internal and not make me slimmer. Doesn't matter. Good habits are more important than do-I-wear-a-smaller-size.
