The winter sojourn is over.. heading home!

All good things must end they say. And so it is that tomorrow morning DH and I will put the last of the packing in the car and head off home.
It hardly seems that it can be 4 months since we left home. We spent a wonderful month in Hawaii and for the rest of the time we have been enjoying Vancouver with a few visits interspersed to Vancouver Island.
We have enjoyed an urban outdoors lifestyle here over the winter that we could not have had at home. Well we could have cross country skiid or downhilled or snowshoed at home but it makes for a long winter if you don't get away for at least some of it.
So like the Canada Goose it is time for us to return home. We will still have a month or so of winter and so we will get to enjoy some of the highlights. Like beautiful sunny winter days, cold and crisp and bright. Frosty mornings with the bare tree branches dressed in Jack Frost's magical wintry lacework. A blanket of snow, soft and white outside; inside warm drinks by the fireside. Ok, I can take this for a short time but here's hoping for a early spring.
It will be nice to renew acquaintances with friends and I especially look forward to the advent of ..... golf season. Meanwhile there are things to be done around the home, maintenance and painting that has been put off for the spring. Remember that old slogan, "don't wait for spring do it now"? Well, now has come.
The party is over. Tomorrow will be a 6 hour drive home most of it through the BC Rockies and tricky mountain passes if it's snowing. Oh well, we do have snow tires. Think of me tomorrow. The rough part will be the unpacking. Have I mentioned that I have been cleaning and packing; packing and cleaning for the last 3 days. I guess it goes with the territory. (Sigh) And now off to bed for tomorrow will be here soon enough!!!!
