I am vertical again today!

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

Up out of bed for a few hours! On crutches! My bumm is grateful!

Thank you all my well-wishers. I will thank you all individually when I have more energy and more time.

The doctor actually must have had an easy time with me -- he took 30 minutes less time than the minimum time I was told to expect. I see him again on Friday. I'll get a chance to ask him everything I was too groggy to ask during my recovery time at the surgery center.
There has been very little bleeding; and HOORAY -- he gave me a prescription for drugs that actually WORK and take pain away! For that alone I am VERY grateful! Of course, I haven't seen my knee yet due to all the bandages and heavy support hosiery that I am not to take off to help prevent blood clots. But I feel pretty giddy with relief to not feel the pain I was anticipating. Not up to normal, but way better than I was expecting!
Today is the first day I've been downstairs and a bit "about", if you know what I mean. Vertical, on crutches. I get easily light-headed; so it is a very little bit about! But this is my up-date; short and sweet and about all I can manage as I must go lie down again... ....amazing how zapped and light-headed I am when vertical!....

That's wonderful! And I hope you made out well today with the doctor. Just be careful! Being on crutches and being light-headed at the sesame time can be dangerous! Hope you feel better real soon!
