My son was Bass Reeves, the first Deputy US Marshall who was also known for his bushy mustache. He was a sharp shooter that escaped slavery and became a Deputy US Marshall. His character was the subject of the recently released movie Django.

    Wow, I just want to pick him up and hug him! I didn't know the character in Django was a real person. That is fascinating. I will have to read up on Bass Reeves. By the way, Canada Post has stamps honouring two of our Canadian heroes for Black History Month. You might be interested in reading about them:
