I got the blues

Well today has been one of those days I would normally end up pigging out on ice cream or something sweet , I have been depressed all day and usually when I get this way I eat and kick myself later, how ever today I put on a work out DVD and spent 30 mins working out I worked up a real sweat and did not pick up a spoon and eat anything emoticon

    Thanks for the comments , I have to say after choosing to exercise over eating was a huge stepping stone for me , I have battled depression for a long time and when I get upset , hurt, stressed out I have always reached for food stuffing myself tell I felt sick most of the time not even noticing , that I was doing it , To be mindful and able to catch myself is a big for me , I keep baby carrots in the house now and celery , if i really feel like I need to eat I reach for my carrots not a bag of chips , I really would like to understand this connection to food and stress , I have yet to figure it out . My two teenage boys got into a fist fight yesterday , I had to break it up , broke a nail and I was so mad at them for fighting and when I was done scolding them I went into a stress fit and had to eat reached for my carrots something about the crunch calmed me down ate 6 and was fine

    More importantly, exactly how did you feel after? I embrace that, and never forget it. The next time, I start to feel any negative waves, I know exactly what to do next! Great job! Stay strong and focused!
