Still Here!

But barely. We got a new expensive computer and the stupid wireless keyboard doesn't like to utilize the space bar or certain letters. Very frustrating to type out blogs! Or even to respond to your blogs.

Fitness-wise I am doing good. Still very passionate about Crossfit and do not miss a class. I am getting lots of compliments on how great my arms look. I love that! Still running too when the weather is nice. And I do the treadmill when it is yucky.

Food-wise is going OK. I have great days and not so great days. I am around 135 lbs right now and am trying to get back under 130. My size 6-8's still fit, but I can tell are starting to get snug. Binge eating is still my demon that I continue to fight.

Health-wise.... ugh.... I don't know what is wrong with me. I am having a lot of pain in my wrists and elbows, particularly at night. Hands have been going numb. They (Doc and Occ. Therapist) believe it is carpal tunnel and something else (can't remember what she called it, but says it is a pinched ulnar nerve). I am being referred to a neurologist to get an "EMG".... yikes! Hopefully it will spell out exactly what is wrong. I am hoping it is not permanent damage and can be fixed with exercise and splints.... but so far that has not worked. Surgery scares me! I guess that is another reason why I haven't been on much. Hands hurt to type. :( I am sure Crossfit isn't helping.... but, well.... y'know.....

    sorry to hear your wrist's are hurting you. It is so tough to ease up even when the pain is there I know. I hope you are feeling better soon!

    Sorry to hear that you are in pain. It sounds like you might have impingement issues- happens quite a bit in Crossfit with all the lifts etc.. Did you check out Kelly Starette's Mobility WOD? That guy has so many videos that can really help. I'd say that he is one of the major forces in my rehab aka Humpty Dumpted LOL Good luck- I hope you can manage to let us know how you are doing.... video????? emoticon

    Maybe Crossfit is too much of a good thing. At least you are getting it checked out. Just keep listening to your body and you should be good to go. Even running daily can be too much for some people (as it is for me), so maybe you need a couple of lower impact activity days in your workout schedule. Hope you get some answers soon.

    thanks for the update. I have dealt with tendinitis in my wrist on and off for 10 years now. I have been lucky and have avoided surgery but I totally understand the pain at the keyboard.

    So glad you are still here!!!! :) I hate that you are in so much pain, though. Hope the tests reveal what is going on & it can be taken care of easily. Kuddos to you for continuing to press on & crossfit through the pain!

    Have you talked to the trainers at your box (see how "knowledgeable" I am, ha ha!) the pain
    . Maybe they can suggest some modifications. Sometimes you really need to back down - temporarily.

    I hope they figure out what's going on quickly, and will be praying it's a simple fix. Nice to hear your update :)
