Can't sleep

So now I didn't work out yesterday and not going to today. Went movies last night as my boyfriend wanted to go and told me while I was at work. Today i have to work really late. so that's 2 days i haven't worked out and this is the problem with me being consistent with my exercise. I would like to wake up and do AM wrokouts but I can't sleep early.

I've always had sleep issues I even joined a SP called I need sleep. More so now work and my BF is stressing me out greatly and it's hard for me to sleep. I drink red wine sometimes but don't want to get hooked on that or melatinin or zzquil. The last 2 get me to sleep but i feel like crap the whole day. I have even tried BBW sleep mist, which is aromatherapy and I have sinus issues also and they make me feel tired a lot.

I know the above may seem like excuses but they are reasons. I will try harder however as I had finally recognized that this is the biggest obstacle to me achieving my goals of weight loss. I eat a whole lot better but there is only so much healthier eating can do, I need to exercise. sigh.

I need some help with some effective sleep methods. I wonder about sleep machines but I don't know which one actually works.

    I just started taking the melatonin and it works for me. I take it with my dinner which is usually 2-3 hours before my bedtime. So by the time I lay down I'm ready for sleep. Reading (the Bible is great) is also a great aid. My doctor recommended Benadryl to me a few years ago. I take that every now and then but it works. I agree with Falcongirl2010 - you may need to talk with the BF to get him onboard. You don't won't to discourage the spontaneous date nites but you don't want it to derail your journey either. I schedule my workouts as M-F if I miss a day I make-up on Sat or Sun. If not, Sat & Sun are my bonus days.

    I have this problem as well. I've never had any great success with sleep aides. What has helped me the most is setting a regular sleep time and about 30 minutes before bed going to lay down and read or something else. It helps turn off my brain.

    The melatonin and zzquil make me feel sleepy when i'm awake and throughout the day. have tried reducing the amounts but seems to have the same effect but will try reducing again.

    Will see if I can find the liquid magnesium. How does it make you feel when you wake up?

    I have had sleep issues for a long time. I have tried all sorts of things and nothing worked until someone suggested liquid Magnesium half an hour before bedtime. I thought it was a joke at first but it really helped me. Maybe, just maybe it might help you too. I use one by Salus Haus and is imported for a company called FLORA but I suspect there will be others out there. Wishing you luck.

    My boyfriend often impedes my workout or eating plans without realizing it too. It's tough to stick to a routine when you have someone else on a different routine who wants to plan spontaneous things. I had a talk with him about how important my goals were for me, and he is better now about supporting me sticking to my workout and sleep plans. You should have a talk with your guy and see if that helps. Also I've tried melatonin and it's a hit or miss with falling asleep, but zzzquil works like a charm. They say it's not habit-forming but I've never used it more than 1 night in a row so I don't know. You could try reading or taking a warm bath before bed to help wind down and relax.
