Today marks Day 3 in a row of my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (the first & still my fave!)
Unlike what I usually wear for my walks (a million layers, hat gloves) I am in teeny tiny shorts & a sports bra.
There are a couple mirrors in the room I work out in, too- so it's pretty inevitable to pay some attention to what I've been swaddling in sweaters & comfy pants.
But I made a surprising discovery- while my body is far from 'perfect', it's also far from being totally out of shape.
I was pretty amazed by my own leg muscles, which Lo & Behold were still There. Even though I'd beaten myself up a bit for not being able to do a real ST/Cardio workout for almost 2 months, I did not lose most of my tone.
& I am strong. Anyone who has worked out w Jillian for awhile knows that amazing feeling when the portion of the workout you once Could NOT get through,
all of a sudden you Can.
Your body does adjust, you do get stronger.
The wonderful thing about taking the time to do a good circuit train is afterwards how beautifully your body vibrates & sings.
I am not talking pain- more of a sweet soreness- that sounds weird, huh?
But every movement of my worked out body feels better.
Cleansed & strong.
That is what I had forgotten for my almost 2 months, & what I am loving getting back.
I also cannot recommend the 30 Day Shred enough, I know I had a decent foundation set because of it.
& I am on my way to getting back into the best shape of my life.
