Week 8 - Working on my running time

What is your weight today? 149.6lbs

Did you lose, gain, or maintain? Why? Gained 0.8lbs. All I can say is that it’s TOM. Honestly, I expected the scale to be up even more. So I must have done something right.

What have you done well? I was more aware of my snacking.

What could you have done better? I need to go back to really focusing on increasing my protein and limiting my carbs to 150g.

What changes will you make so that you can be more successful during the rest of this round? I will go back to limiting my carbs to no more than 150g per day. This will force me to think about what I’m reaching for. Instead of the easy carb snacks, I will have to focus on protein and veggies.

I’m continuing to increase the intensity of my workout. I’m purposefully pushing myself on the treadmill by running. I warm up for 5 minutes (and I’m even pushing it with the incline), then I start to run. Usually I “warmed up” for 10 minutes. This week I’m going to start setting my goal as miles instead of time. So for now, I’m going to set it for a 5k (3.1 miles). I’m completing that in under 35 minutes. So next I’m going to start upping that to 4 miles. I’m not sure what I want my finish time to be maybe 40 minutes.

    I, too, have let too many carbs creep in. I am much happier ---much more content with my calories---when I keep them quite low.
