They're Coming To Take Me Away... Haahaa heehee hoho, To the Funny Farm...

...Where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats, and they're coming to take me away. Haa-haa!"

You all know the song, have heard it before in your youth or at some of your stranger friends' houses... like me. My father has this song on reel-to-reel, and I always made it my priority when we were rebuilding engines or fixing cars in the garage to listen to this song... forward and then backward.

"Remember when you ran away and I got on my knees and begged you not to leave because I'd go berserk?? Well... You left me anyhow and then the days got worse and worse and now you see I've gone completely out of my mind.. And...
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa
To the funny farm. Where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!!!"

Yes, I know ALL the words. I LOVED this song, and I still sing it when I am tramping about the house or yard and see my parents doing strange things! I love to get their dander up. It's my new job now that I don't work for Dad anymore (because I will have my own check soon! HAHA)

FREEDOM!

"...You thought it was a joke and so you laughed, you laughed when I had said that loosing you would make me flip my lid.. RIGHT???
I know you laughed, I heard you laugh, you laughed you laughed and laughed and then you left, but now you know I'm utterly mad... And..
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa,
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa.
To the happy home. With trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!"

Not really, I am still a slave to whatever they will let me be a slave to them for. I love my joker parents and I love who I am when I am with them. SEE! POSITIVE THOUGHTS TODAY. I am going to "Keep It Simple Stupid" and work on that for a bit until I am back on happily stable footing.

"...I cooked your food, I cleaned your house, and this is how you pay me back for all my kind unselfish, loving deeds? Well you just wait, they'll find you yet and when they do they'll put you in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt!!!"

And on the Alaska Man front... well, we had a night of TV watching and cuddling together last night - no sex and no drinking! My rules. He went home around 2am when the last movie was over, but it was so great just to lay there and listen to the beating of his heart. And noticing how it sped up at times... It was just calm and non-alcoholic and the freaky thing is that I can see myself doing that for YEARS to come.

Am I going to stress about it to make it happen? No.
Am I going to plot and scheme to make it happen? No... well maybe a little plotting.
Am I going to freak out in March when he leaves? I will be sad and will miss him but hopefully by then we've had more time to get to know each other AGAIN and we can learn to miss each other without being a-holes. (What lofty goals I set, huh?)

So here's to a positive new day and here's to Whoop-Ass Wednesday!

"...They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa.
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats and they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!!
To the happy home, with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're coming to take me away, ha-haa!!!
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time... (fade out)"

Exit Stage Left... Thank you ladies and Gentlemen, I am here all week.

Peace, Love, and Insanity,
Ang

I remember that song mainly in my teens coming from the console stereo radio in the living room! And then later we got an 8-track with it on it, along with other goodies, like The Streaker, etc., Here I Am At Camp Granada ong too! Remember those?! Loved them!! Oh, you and AK man, what a joy and a half for you both! With visiting him in AK, now that's a joy and a half plus, showing him that you care alot!!!! Heehee, hoho, haha........well there's really no joke in this about the AK man. That's all pure truth!! Caring about him now and then! Oh, and we need to see a picture too, or have you already posted it??!!

That visit to Alaska , summer solsstice, should happen around June 21-22.
The song hit #3 the summer I graduated from high school. Here's a version on You Tube. Pretty much the way I remember it. Of course we didn't have benefit of music videos back then. We had to use our imagination.

Never heard of that song, will have to look it up when ever I get a minute! Nothing beats having your own income. Yes, you are free, even though you live under their roof.
Goals are good, something to work towards.
Positive is awesome, keep up the great attitude!!

I like that song. I think your idea of just taking it as it comes regarding AM is a good one. You are right that if you continue to spend time together on your terms, perhaps he will see things differently when the time comes. I think you should research when is the warmest time to be in Alaska and plan to visit him then. Maybe around the solstice so you can experience a 24 hour day. Until then keep on working to be the best you.
