Been looking at Eat Stop Eat by Brad Pilon lately. Think I might try a 24 hour fast and see how it goes. I've been eating way too much since the weekend, and don't seem to be able to stop. Today seems ideal to do it since it's my non-gym day, so I won't require the readily available cals for my workout. I'm not sure I'll make the full 24 hours, but even 16 would be okay too. The key for me is to remember to eat a nice, NORMAL meal after the fast to break it, not scarf down 1000+ cals. I have fasted before, so I know what to expect, though never for a full day, so that may be interesting. It's kind of refreshing in a weird way--I don't have to think about food. At all. No prepping, worrying about what to take to work, what to eat when I get home, should I stop at the store, etc. etc.
Intermittent Fasting is an interesting highly argued topic. Proponents for it site the concept of 'resting' your body--of giving all the digestive system and various organs attached to it a break from constantly being engaged. And frankly, some people simply find it easier to apply their weekly caloric deficit to one or two days, allowing them to eat a larger amount of food throughout the week. We'll see how it goes. :)
