“To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved.”

I totally agree with this one! Being loved is a about "synching" with someone, having personalities that compliment each other, or possibly having some chemistry going on. But trust is something that must be earned. I know that not everyone will like me, and that is ok, but I hope even those I don't "click" with still see me as an honest and trustworthy person. I know many people that I am not good friends with because we have different interests or values, but whom I greatly respect. And others I can't help but love because they are fun or have similar interests to me, but I wouldn't trust with something really important to me. And of course there are the people I BOTH love and trust. Those are the treasured relationships you hang on to!

    I'd say equal.
And that they probably often go together.

Yes, but being loved feels good, too.

In my past, I never would have believed that to be true. It was one of those "if you love a person, you automatically trust them" people. NOT SO I have found out.

In my family I have dealt with alcohol and gambling addictions. Now I love these people with all my heart and soul, but there are certain things I would NOT trust them with. I would trust them with my life, but not while under the influence of gambling nor alcohol.

Trusting really is a big deal!

I like it! I know that I love people I trust, but I don't always trust people I love.

If your loved then your trusted to a certain point, but if your trusted, then you also can be loved, the question then is can you be both and be committed??

I think both are fairly equal. To be loved and not trusted is not really love.
