Along with dropping to 145...

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

One of my unmentioned goals is to Max the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) for 10 years younger than I am by June 30th. I looked up the height and weight standards as well as the APFT standards required for age 45 and this I what I discovered. At 5 foot 7 inches tall I must weigh UNDER 176 pounds while wearing a t-shirt, gym shorts, and socks. I must do 66 push ups within 2 minutes, 76 sit ups within 2 minutes, and run 2 miles in 14:06 or less. I'm 55 and right now I am certain that RIGHT NOW I can do the sit ups and run within the allotted time and I'd come pretty close to making the push ups right now too. I weigh 167 pounds so I already meet their height and weight standards. That is get the MAXIMUM SCORE of 300 the standards for 10 years YOUNGER than I am right now, so I'm thinking that I'm not doing too bad and ought to give myself a break!!! (Well, I won't give myself a break but I'm pretty happy with where I currently am!!!)
