Loving Yourself: Every Little Bit of You

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Did you ever imagine that loving all of yourself could be so hard? Would you find it easy if I asked you make a list of the things you love about yourself? Do you have a long list or a short list? I can name a couple of things I like about me, but thatís about it. Ellen Goodman said, ďThe things we hate about ourselves arenít more real than things we like about ourselves.Ē We have to learn to love everything about ourselves. Here is a wonderful reminder to help you do that today:

Darling, open your eyes, you are not made up of those words that hurt you. Or that number on the scale. Or the expectations that you feel you will never meet. You are made up of nothing more than you. Simply, beautifully, wonderfully, uniquely you. You are a lovely and complex soul. An individually fascinating combination of thoughts, ideas, feelings, and emotions. No other is as beautiful as you. Look past the mirror. Look at your soul. Only then will you see yourself as you truly are. Beautiful. So smile! And donít forget to love yourself.

Thanks for stopping by!

Very important topic, loving yourself. I never really hated my body, even when I was 70 pounds heavier. It always worked pretty well for me. I think that acceptance actually made it easier to lose weight once I made up my mind to do it. Maybe because I thought I was worth the effort.

This is in line with counting one's blessings. It is true for 99% if us that if we count all the good things about ourselves and match them against the bad, we will surely find we are in the plus column. We need to accept that and truly feel good about ourselves.

Good contemplation...thank you. So often, I get down or frustrated because I am trying to "do" so much and prove myself through my work. But this reminds me that I am more than my work...and that I am a good person...inside...despite what I do or don't "get done. Thank you so much! Hope you had a great Thursday! TGIF! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the encouragement! Spark on! emoticon emoticon

Excellent reminder! So true too! I try to think of 3 things I like about me each morning to keep my confidence and self-esteem up! Try it! I do this before I even get out of bed!

emoticon I love your blogs! I am also doing some team things that ask me to post what I like about myself & it is not as easy as it sounds. I have to work on the feelings of bragging,or something-wonder where that is coming from....

In another challenge, I am listing at least one thing/day that I love about myself.

I love my eyes -- they let me see things -- usually clearly! And they are a beautiful green color (yes, they flash when I'm upset! Just ask DH).

I love my fingers -- they let me grab things, write things, pick things up, type.

I love my feet -- they generally take me where I want/need to go!

That's my start so far.

Awesome blog!
