December and January were sllllooooowww on the weightloss in pounds front. I hit a platue for awhile and the scale and I were not friends. We were becoming enemies. I weighed myself on 2/11 and I was finally under 260. I was at 259. I had some running around to do tonight so i didn't work out. I went to pick the daughter up at Ta Kwon Do and had to use the little girls room. The scale is there in the locker room and I thought what the heck, let's see where we are today Jeanette. In 7 days, I have lost another 2 pounds!!! 2 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy smack!!! So what am I doing differently then in December and January?

1) NO FAST FOOD!!!! Remember the horrible Big mac incident in early January? I spent most of the day in bed with horrible stomach pains after eating a Big Mac and French fries. I can proudly say I have not had a Big mac or any fast food like that since that day. In fact, I don't even crave that junk anymore. The only fast food I have had since then is pizza and subway (is subway fast food? I eat Subway a lot for lunch). I have had craving for pizzas but i don't scarf down half a pizza by myself anymore.

2) Water, lots and lots of water. I am trying desparately to stop drinking diet sodas. I am down to drining 1 can every other day or every 3 days. I swear it is like a crack addict with this stuff. It was easier for me to quit smoking then quit drinking diet soda. I have been drinking green tea as well.

3) I have cut way back on bread and sugar. I still bring lunch meat to snack on and even cheese but I don't use bread anymore. This has been making my stomach feel better too.

4) and lastly I am eating lots more vegies. I eat a salad 4 to 6 days out of the week. My portion size is probably too big but I am replacing sugar and high carb snacks with vegies. I need to start cutting back on the portion size. One step at a time.

I am still taking green coffee bean extract and red raspberry ketones. This is probably helping as well.

I am just beside myself. It is awesome to see results finally!!

    That's awesome. Cutting out the diet soda may be the best thing you've done, even more than the fast food. And you are right: it was harder for me to do that than quit smoking.

    Keep up the good work and I'm certain the scale will play along.

    LH - That is an excellent idea! I think one reason why SparkPeople is so helpful to me is because everything is laid out, in writing in front of me. I am a big user of to do lists to keep on track.

    That's great news! It's wonderful that you can look at what you are doing differently now and see what is helping you to be successful.
    I too have had to just stop with the fast food. We use to eat it all the time. It wasn't good for any of us though. I have cut out just about all of the diet soda- you are right; it is so hard to stop! Congratulations on cutting back! You are heading in the right direction!!
    I've been writing out my weekly goals and reporting the results in my blogs. I think that is helping me.
