Fire is used in so many places in the Bible. I'm not sure yet what I want to learn about it, but I have just been thinking. The Isaelites traveled through the desert with a pillar of fire representing the presence of God. The cool thing is that it produced light for them, but only darkness for their pursuers. Fire is also used to purify like a jeweler. I love the fact that when it is pure, you can see your reflection in it. Fire also burns up trash, so again, purifies. The Bible also talks about the passion that burns inside us like fire, unable to be contained. The tongue is also talked about as a fire, that even though the tongue is small, it can set a blaze so big that it destroys everything in its path. Life and death are in the tongue as well. On Pentecost the Holy Spirit appeared as tongues of fire as they were heard speaking in tongues of men and angels. The presence of God is so many times talked about as a fire. Is there a fire buring in your church today? Is there a fire buring deep within you? Are you willing for the heat to be turned up if it means that you will pure and then be able to see God? Have you seen the fire of God or do you sit in the darkness? Let Him begin to burn and ask for eyes to see His fire, and the desire for it to burn away eveything until His rflection is all we see in the mirror.
