Feeling A Bit Better

I went to the doctor back on the 5th of this month that is when she increased my Cymbalta. I do believe that I can tell a difference. I donít feel quite so drug down. That is when she also suggested that maybe I see a counselor. I have an appointment this Thursday for my first session. I am kinda scared about the whole deal, I guess mainly because I really do not know what to expect.

    Cymbalta is a very good medication & I'm glad it's helping you feel better! Seeing a counselor is a wise thing to do when you're struggling ...they can help you process what's on your mind to help you see things clearer. It's wonderful that you're taking care of yourself! Afterall, you're worth the effort!

    I'm happy to hear you are taking steps to improve your condition. Sounds like you are making the right decisions. I've seen counselors over the years and you'll have to decide if the first one you see is a match after some sessions. Hope everything works out for the best.

    One of the best things I ever did was see a counsellor when I was at one of the lowest points of my life many years ago. You will be amazed at how much they can help. We are here and cheering you on!

    So glad you're feeling better, and also glad you're talking to a counselor. I have been a few times and it has helped me. It's something new for you though, so I can understand why you're nervous. Deep breaths...you are doing the right thing.

    So you know "what" is causing your depression? Or do you have an idea? I think it's a great idea to see a therapist to help you figure things out. Good luck and I will be thinking of you!

    The unknown is always a scary place. Just go with an open mind and know that this person is just there to help you.

    I see a counselor routinely and it is the best thing I ever did. I'm not concerned about what may come out of how I need to deal with things. I am so happy there is someone who has only my best interests to work on and cares about me finding my happiness.
Try it.
The insurance company told me if I was not happy with the counselor I choose, I could try another.
I am lucky I liked the person right away!

    That's great that you're feeling better. My husband and I both decided to seek counseling as well. I feel the same way as you, and hubby is scared too. I hope it all works out well :)

    I have went to one. they will just talk to you. There will be no judgements passed. I like it since I could talk about anything in my life and it was just between us!

    I'm glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. And don't feel anxious about meeting the counselor - remember; their job is to listen and understand, not judge. The first session usually consists of him/her gathering some background information and basically getting to know you (and you - him/her as well). After that, the two of you will most likely decide (together) the direction your counseling will take.

Please let us know how it goes - I'm betting it will go just fine! emoticon
