High impact support, my a$$

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

emoticon went to my first Zumba class last night! It was fun, I love to dance anyway...thankfully there were no mirrors to see how foolish I looked, lol! But it was fun the hour flew by! My next class is Thursday and I am taking my DD with me. The only problem I saw with the night class, i was hyped up, high heart rate until almost 4 am! My day starts at 5:45! emoticon I guess that means I was still burning calories the f hours of intermittent sleep I got.... Lol.
My resting HR is between 76 and 80
Most of last night and the weeeee hours of the morning it was consistently 120!
Anyone have n e idea if that is a good thing?
I splurged, knowing thwt with basketball over I would be able to get out for a class, I bought a sport bra. A $40 sports bra ( to me that is a HUGE price tag!! I mean the baby could have gotten a whole summer wardrobe for that) it was/still is labelled "high impact/high intensity support! I am not that large up top (38D), but I found myself having to adjust and put the girls back on more than one occasion! My lord that was embarrassing!! emoticon
I also went AFTER I ate dinner.... Ugh. The spins the spins! Hahaha, let me share that Brussel sprouts with a kale heavy salad DO NOT taste any better the 2nd time!! I kept everything down, but it was a struggle! Lesson learned!! emoticon
My feet hurt during it too, my sneaks are kinda new (almost two years old, lol), running shoes. Maybe investing in some other kind of sneaker will be a ten pound loss reward.
Cross training in double circuits, is daunting, but worth it. The .Zumba is great. Bring on Spring with hands in the air and hips shaking!! Lol
Take care all

I would be concerned about a high heart rate for that long a period. You may want to ask your doctor or nurse about it. Just my opinion.

The right shoes make all the difference! I had a pair of fairly new shoes. They were good quality but they weren't for MY type of feet. My feet and hips hurt like crazy! Then I got new shoes with a really good arch support and all that pain vanished. I am going to a running store to get fitted properly. They watch you walk and find out where you put your weight then show you what kind of support you need. Tell them its for Zumba and they may have just what you need!

I'm glad you enjoyed your Zumba class and are going to go back again. I am doing Zumba at home with my Wii console and also am loving it.

I learned that running shoes aren't the way to go, so I have been wearing my old cross trainers, but I have some new shoes coming today which are training shoes by Nike, so I am hoping those will be even more comfortable.

Maybe next time try eating a small snack before your class if you are hungry, then eat your actual meal after, to help avoid the spins and the challenge of trying to keep everything down.
