Big Trial This Week

I spent 20 or more hours over the weekend preparing for the permanent custody trial that will occur on Friday. As a result, I overate yesterday, although I stayed within calorie range.

Mostly, it was mindless eating that occurred while reading caseworker activity log (247 pages) and writing the barebones timeline for the case.

The culprit: potato chips. I rarely crave sweet things. My soft spot is salty things.

Anyway, all was OK, except that I had so many calories with potato chips that there was not room for a decent meal, calories wise.

    I know the pain of trial prep. I am just getting into doing family law. Criminal jury trials are my real love but they rarely pay the bills. The family law stuff is so much more stressful that I would probably eat a lot too but at least you stayed in range which is great

    Thanks, ladies. It will be a stressful day, but I expect to win the case. Three children, ages 10, 7, and 5.

    I tend to turn to food when stressed and I imagine you job is very stressful but also rewarding when you are able help families in crisis. I hope the trial goes well.

    I sometimes struggle with eating too many empty calories to justify a decent meal, but still try to get something healthy in, if not the empty calories ended up calling my name again later...

It sounds like you're prepared for your trial! Hoping the results are what you want!

  good luck on the trial I hope it comes out right for the child (children) they are the ones who matter the most
