:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:

They always say time changes things, but you actually
have to change them yourself.

Andy Warhol

:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:. .:~*~:

Yesterday I heard this woman at a meeting she has been into drugs and alcohol for many years and sobered up about three years ago. I like her because she is sort of very plain and very honest and moving on in her life. She spoke about her home - that today she would not let anyone smoke in her home or put their feet on the table, that she was being almost fanatic about cleaning and having everything tidy. And that she was going to the hairdresser to cut her hair and dye her hair, something she would never have wasted money on in her active life. I was so impressed and wondered why I dont treat myself with the same respect. It seems impossible.

It's so great to be inspired by people who have overcome hard times! You do deserve treats! I treat myself a little too often but now I'm trying to save money, without depriving myself too much.

    Have a great day!

It's not impossibe. It's a process. The more we can learn to love ourselves and treat ourselves with respect the more likely we are to succeed at whatever we are trying to succeed at - including weight loss.

Change is a good thing,if it is for the better,
I think you are doing a grat great job of it so Go Out and Reward Yourself emoticon

As for the lady you speak of, seems she is busy cleaning and tidying up,maybe
just to keep busy, kicking bad habits are hard and some people trade it for a good habit but over do it? wich in her case is good it keeps her well.
PS you do not need a hairdresser ,I like your haircolor emoticon

They say that if you want changes in your life, you first have to change your mind - and I guess by extension that means changing addictive behaviors, bad habits, etc. She sounds as though she got tired of drifting through life, and decided to take control of her destiny. Truly remarkable!
