Stayed within my calories...

Monday, February 18, 2013

For those of you living in Canada, I hope you had a good Family Day!! Today I went out for dinner with the in-laws to celebrate my father-in-laws birthday. And of course they chose Jack Astor's. I went online before going to check out the menu and calories...can I just say WOW! emoticon There were only like 2-4 items below 600 calories!!!! CRAZY! This restaurant is definitely not for someone watching what they eat. emoticon So I am so glad that I did check it out before. When I got to the restaurant I didn't even need to look at the menu because I knew exactly what I was having. It ended up being just over 500 calories but at least it was healthy!!! (And I had enough in my calories to eat it). I had the California Grilled Chicken Salad, it was so tasty too!!! I won't even begin to tell you what my husband had...he doesn't care what he eats.

Anyways, just thought I'd share my success for the day because I am very proud of myself. The family also had appetizers and I didn't even have a taste!! emoticon

Good for you! I love to eat out but it's so hard to find "safe" foods to eat. Salad always sounds like the right choice but you sure have to watch what's on it!

Great job! I am so glad that most restaurants have their nutritional values online. I could never go anywhere! I am really bad at picking what seems to be low calorie,

Way to go. It's crazy how some of these restaurants have menu items with insane amounts of calories. My fiance wanted to go out to lunch at a specific place for Valentine's Day. Even their grilled chicken salad was over 600 calories. Thankfully we went somewhere else and we shared a meal.
