"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

Winston Churchill

This quote so sums up this SP journey for me!!! Success {reaching goal weight} DEFINITELY is not's just the beginning of the next permanent phase, the phase that lasts for the rest of your life. Failure {bumps in the road, backslides} are not fatal....we only have to get back up, brush ourselves off, learn from our mistakes and push forward. Courage? I never thought it might take courage to continue this journey, because the alternative is such a well known fact. But...maybe it does take some courage when you're so dead tired you just don't think you can do another thing, but you do. You walk another mile, you do 3 more ST sets, or pick up the next heaviest set of weights and you move forward. It does take courage to shed one's old self and accept the new, transformation that one has become. They are very nearly two completely different people. The new looks back at the old and has trouble even recognizing the former self - really....who was that person anyway?? It does take courage to change and that's what we do. From the inside, out.

Had a great day. The weather was beautiful for outside cardio. We (Jetta & I) put in a lot of good miles on the trail, went WAY back into the woods, off the main trail over rougher ground. A good workout! Did a ST session tonight - core; upper body.

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Monday was active & real good!! emoticon

    Love your insights!! Well done!!

I was under the weather yesterday and missed out on getting outside on our rare 55* day. emoticon But I am better today and got my yoga done--it will help cleanse my body of the germs and woke up those germ produced achy, overly-fatigued muscles. Ahhhh.

Temps started out in the 30's and took a nosedive down to just above zero now with nasty wind chills. Tomorrow's high-10. Guess I'll be walking inside the next few days. Enjoy the walking outside as long as you can. HUGS!

too cold and rainy for us to go outside, but we did get in 2 hours of roller skating, and I did some hula hooping and walking indoors

OMG you summed up what's in my head too! It is just the BEGINNING of the next permanent phase of this journey. And it is not going to be "fool proof", but we have that power to forge ahead WITH the courage it takes to do so.

I was thunderstruck by your statement that it takes courage for the "old" you to embrace the "new" you, because they are two very distinct people. FOR SURE!!! that's something that every peron, well . . . me anyway! . . . struggled with for a long time. The changes over time are physical, emotional, spiritual. so it does take courage to reconcile all the changes and really embrace the "new" you. So well put.
