Well, that was fun!

I tracked 27.4 miles today combining my walk/run/pedal mileage. I walked the dog 9.3 miles, plus the 1.5 miles walking to the gym and back for 10.8 miles walking. At the gym I hopped on the treadmill and ran 3.6 miles, did my ST, then pedaled 11.4 miles, before getting back on the treadmill for another 1.6 miles. So add 5.2 miles running, plus the 11.4 miles pedaling. It all adds up to 27.4 miles (I think... I'm tired so my math might be off. lol) I had almost 35000 steps today. Yikes!! I am considering going back to the gym tomorrow to use the elliptical. I normally go Mon/Wed/Fri, but Wednesday might not work this week, so I would like to go another day. Thing is I don't want to run two days in a row, as my knees will complain mightily, so doing some cross training on the elliptical tomorrow might be the answer. If I do that I might go Thursday as well. We will see.

We actually had some sun today! I wanted to just stand with my face upturned and soak in it, but Cooper had other ideas. That little dog of mine does not like to be still when he is outside. He wants to GO! Tomorrow I walk with my niece and her friend in the morning, I am hoping for a little more sunshine tomorrow, so they don't complain about the weather so much. Is it me, or do 12 year olds complain about everything?

I hope everyone had a good day. I am exhausted, but it feels good. Now I am going to have a snack and put my feet up and read for a while. Cooper likes that, because my lap is still for a long while, so he can snuggle.

The know-it-all business, and the complaining gets worse when they are 13 and 17. Thing is, they desperately want to BE grown-up, or failing that, to be TREATED as if they were grown up. Thing is, once they get to be grown up and take on grown up responsibilities, they have to be grown up for 80 years.

Somehow we need to figure out how to help them enjoy being a kid and to take some of that into young adult and adulthood!! Trust me. My inner child wishes I had known that!! Maybe you should have some snowballs ready behind a bush down the street tomorrow for when they do complain.
