Polar Plunge

Monday, February 18, 2013

I did the Polar Plunge this weekend for the Special Olympics. I didn't feel comfortable showing my body off, so I went in with pants and bathing suit. It's bittersweet because it is hard to admit that with my three year old having delays and special needs this may be something that will become part of our life. It is hard to say to people that my child is not developing normally.

your child is developing normally for what she has.each child developes diferantly so i wouldn´t worry too much there are much worse things out there.i know what i am talking about you are a great mom and have a great daughter who you can be proud of.i have three children with specail needs and my oldest is in a special school i imagine my youngest will also have to go into a special school as well.if people have a problem with your daughter that is there problem not yours.now hold your head up high.be proud of each and everyone of your daughters achievements ,show her how prouzd you are and show others as well.that is the only way to reeducate people.what is normal?to me normal is diferant for every person.well done for taking the plunge though at the special olympics you are braver than me. emoticon

emoticon emoticon You are going to be more conscious of his every development and supportive than Mothers who take everything as 'expected' and just get irritated by each advance ... like 'No more questions' to a three year old.

What is normal? You are a great Mom with a wonderful child. Delays are just that delays. Keep being there, loving and sharing your little ones life. Albert Einstein did not speak till he was four and suffered from learning disabilities.
    Loved your Polar Plunge!
