I bought an exquisite spicy tea, and I'm so curious about these small pods that are included in it.
Second pic shows after I cut it open and scraped out some seeds. What is it?

I bought this tea instead of getting a manicure. It's that delicious.

Cardamom is second only to saffron as the most expensive spice in the world. That's why those tiny tins of chai cost ten bucks. But it's worth it. Try breaking open one of the pods and grinding up the seeds in a mortar and pestal. It will add a nice zing. Cardamom is very popular in Scandinavia, used in lots of pastries, etc. Many types of curry include it.

    It's cardamom :)

It's used lots in Indian foods, both sweet and savoury.

I love it, I use it a lot, I just used some in making my wedding cake in fact!

    Hmm - I don't know.

But I love the idea of a special tea to pamper yourself. I want to remember that one. I am so bad at rewards!
