Kid-free week

Monday, February 18, 2013

My mom has been out of town for the past 2 weeks and she decided to stay for another week. She's about 2 1/2 to 3 hours north of where we live. My son is out of school for the week. (well, he's supposed to go back thursday and friday bit I'm letting him miss school those 2 days) My mom was supposed to be back yesterday to watch my son for me, but since she decided to stay I had to take him up there yesterday to her. No problem. So, we went up yesterday and spent the day there. I saw my cousin and uncle that I hadn't seen for a little while. We all went to dinner and then my friend and I left the restaraunt and came home. I said bye to my son gave him hugs and kisses and all that. He got in the car with my mom, aunt, cousin and uncle. No crying or anything. Well, I had just gotten through Atlanta and my mom calls me and says "He wants you to come get him" So she puts him on the phone and I talk to him to figure out why. The 3 days leading up to this he was beyond excited, was ready to go. He starts crying and all he can tell me is that he misses me. Well, he puts my mom back on the phone and she says she knows what is wrong. The whole time my mom keot telling him that he had to sleep by himself on the sofa. Me and her actually got into an argument about that. I didn't understand why he couldn't sleep in the bed with one of them. He's in a new place and I'm not there, he's going to be overwhelmed. So she tells me that she will call me back. About 5 mins later he calls and say "Momma, I think I'm gonna stay. I'm going to sleep with Grandmommy" (Grandmommy is my aunt) He had all the confidence in the world when he said that. His anxiety was gone. YAY!! So that disater was diverted. LOL He called him about 30 mins after that to tell me goodnight and that he loves me. He also called me this morning when he got up to tell me good morning. He plans on calling every morning and night to tell me good morning and good night. He also said he might call me during the day to just check on me and make sure I know where he is and that he's ok. He is so sweet!!

Someone is doing a great job raising that little boy. He loves his mommy very much it seems. That is so cute though. Keep it up!

That is so sweet!! My oldest was like that when he was little and would go to my mom's. He stayed at a friends house last night and used his buddy's phone to text with me for a while and ask how I was. emoticon It makes you feel like you are doing something right with them, doesn't it?
