Today is Jillian Michael's Birthday

Monday, February 18, 2013

Today is day 52 of my on track streak!

It is also Jillian Michael's birthday. Whether you love her or hate her, she is an inspiration to many people! So happy birthday, Jillian!

"It happens - you miss a few workouts and you feel like you've fallen off the weight-loss wagon.
It's tempting to mentally slap yourself around, right? (Or head for the fridge.)
Before you start, I want to remind you of something: Being hard on yourself is the Old You.
The New You knows how to deal with setbacks and get back on the wagon.
And after all, there are no mistakes, just learning experiences. Weight loss is a process - it takes time.
You will encounter small failures - everyone does - but every pound you gain can be lost.
And if you miss a workout, it's not the end of the world!
Get to the gym the next day and continue to focus on your short-term goals.
Just because you made bad choices today doesn't mean you can't start over tomorrow.
New day? New beginning. And don't you forget it!"
-Jillian Michaels

"When you put positive energy and productive effort into the world it will come back to you. Occasionally in ways you might not immediately understand and on a time frame you didn’t expect. Look. Listen. Learn. Stay open. Your destiny is awaiting you.”
-Jillian Michaels

“Part of abandoning the all-or-nothing mentality is allowing yourself room for setbacks. We are bound to have lapses on the road to health and wellness, but it is critical that we learn how to handle small failures positively so that we can minimize their long-term destructive effects. One setback is one setback—it is not the end of the world, nor is it the end of your journey toward a better you.”
― Jillian Michaels

“Having the right to happiness means having the right to earn it, not having it given to you without effort and action on your part.”
-Jillian Michaels

“Do you realize that there is nothing in our genes that tells us when to die? There are genetic codes that tell us how to grow, how to breathe, and how to sleep, but NOTHING that tells us to die. So why do we? Because we literally rust and decay our bodies from the inside out with poor food and lifestyle choices.”
-Jillian Michaels

“The past does not define, you the present does.”
-Jillian Michaels

Happy Birthday Jillian Michaels! I knew she said she used to be heavy as a teenager but I'd never seen the before pictures before. She was heavier than I imagined!

I dont find Jillian inspiring nor do I see her as a role model. Nonetheless, she has made a huge impact on the fitness movement and deserves respect for that.

I love to know today is Jillian's birthday, and to also know we share the same month is much more inspiring for me. Sometimes, I want to hate her she shouts at me on screen but I don't stop the video and I will surely come back again.

She tells it like it is and accepts NO EXCUSES!!! Don't know if I could personally take her on as a Personal Trainer though. She'd always have me in tears. Happy belated birthday Jillian and thanks for posting this Pixie.

She's 39. But, unlike Denise Austin who turned 56 and is the mother of two children, she doesn't have children, so it is easier to stay slim. Denise is 5'4" and 112#. I think I read that Jillian weighs 119# and is 5'2". emoticon

I don't know if we'd be friends and I think she would make me cry and hate her guts if I were her client...but I respect her for what she accomplishes with people and inspires in them, and I respect her overall attitude toward a healthy lifestyle (loved what she said around Thanksgiving about enjoying your food and not depriving yourself, but then just making sure you got back to eating healthy and exercising the next day! I happen to know a certain college dance team coach who could benefit from that advice, since she told her team not to eat their Thanksgiving food. INSANITY.) So happy birthday, Jillian!

I don't watch her program as i don't care for the intensity of her but I have seen her on talk shows and she appears to be a lovely, caring lady.

I have no idea why... I love watching her and Gordon Ramsey take people apart and put them back together again.. and .. from a distance.. she inspires me to keep with it.. but....

......if it was me they were screaming at.. I shut down mentally and become a pile of snot-ridden weeping goo in the corner when people talk to me like that..

And when people are rude or critical about my weight in a lesser form, unless it gets me angry at them, its another reason to grab that candy bar or go crawl into bed and avoid the world.

I do believe the one about our body rusting from inactivity and we do feel better ad enjoy life when we move and make other good choices.

It is rather difficult to look like her.... but I think she would have to work darn hard to look like that. Even with good genes and eating right, you don't look like that without working your tush off, to put it nicely. emoticon

I love JM, she kicks my butt everyday and I showed her some love yesterday with all kinds of planks, which I think had to be her favorite exercise. I still don't get her obsession with climbing on people's backs during workouts.

I don't watch Biggest Loser after the first season. Caught a few minutes last night... oh my gosh. Really? Ranting works as a motivator? Glad she helps others but ... click - changing the channel.
