4 Pounds away from 100 lost

Monday, February 18, 2013

I am nearing the century mark of weight loss. It has been a long journey and I expect the journey to continue as I am not yet to the elusive but oh so close onederland. My highest known weight came in September of 2009 when the scale dial spun all the way around and stopped on 10...I took action the very next day. I asked a coworker if I could try out his P90X DVDs and I got to work a couple days later eating right and exercising. The past few years have been full of ups, downs, and plateaus but I have stuck with it and have become a "healthy for life" advocate. Meaning I know that you can't just reach your goal weight and then stop its a forever kind of thing. A friend made a weight loss bracelet with 100 on it that I have to earn. It is taped on my locker at work to remind me to get after it! 4lbs no biggie then it is on to reaching my forever weight...which includes making it to onederland.
Awesome things over the weekend I had a great 8 mile run, I ran 1 minute per mile faster than I ever have at that distance. Really focusing on my nutrition and weight loss has improved my running a lot. I ran hard enough to throw a puker, which is the first time I have felt comfortable enough to run that hard. I actually feel like a runner for the first time since I started running. Sunday I challenged myself to catch my sister in Fitbit steps I had finals last week and had some lower totals during those days. I not only caught up to her I beat her by 2000 steps!
