So I'm hanging in there with my current plan, which is as much real food as I can (no fast food, processed food, white/brown sugar, or white flour) and a little (very little) exercise. I've lost three pounds this week, but as I've lost these SAME THREE POUNDS at least four times now, I don't know that they're lost so much as lurking in the shadows. We'll see...
I made pita bread, tortillas, and saltine crackers this week, from scratch. I had no idea how easy it was to make things like that, though as such an experienced bread baker I guess I should have known! Anyway, I'm definitely never buying tortillas again. My pita bread still needs a little work, and my husband loved the crackers, which surprised the heck out of me. I guess you never know until you try!
Making those things is all part of this other thing we're trying with our grocery budget. I estimated how much we spent on groceries (for 2 people) for the month, and since we had reached that amount by the 12th, we decided to go the rest of the month without shopping. So far, no problem, but we're nearly out of everything that we usually eat so I'm going to have to get creative with stuff in the pantry and the freezer. I think it will teach us a good lesson about using what we buy!
In other news, I received an award at work, which was really nice. Also, the bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding is in, so I have to go pick it up today. When I ordered it back in October, I ordered it a size smaller than I needed at the time, but I'm basically the same weight I was then, give or take a couple of pounds. I have a little over two months to fit into it, so I'd better get cracking!
