The Size of a Grasshopper

Monday, February 18, 2013

“We were like grasshoppers in our own sight; and so we were in theirs.” Numbers 13:33.

So often we see ourselves as smaller, and as less powerful than God sees us. This self-concept keeps us from thinking the best about ourselves. It keeps us from reaching out and loving others. Love is an action that comes from God.

Today is a great day to remember that you are strong, beautiful and powerful. Small thinking is NOT humility. Small thinking keeps us from believing that our actions will make a difference. Do not be afraid of becoming a part of the solution. Is there is someone who is critical of what you are doing or who you are? Do not become discouraged. Every great person has their critics! Listen to their words in order to find ways to learn and grow. Do not let their words destroy you. Who criticizes the most? It is the person who does nothing but hide in the shadows.

Continue to climb the mountains that are before you. Reach for higher summits than those of the past. Even when I feel as small as a grasshopper, I remember that I serve a BIG God, and HE sees me as big and important.

All I can say is AWESOME! It is so vital that we edit out those negative comments -- and realize just as you pointed out, He has great expectations of each of us and we can achieve them!
