Nutribullet, here we come!!!

Monday, February 18, 2013

I bought a Nutribullet (along the lines of a Magic Bullet, but I think it pulverizes the food more) last week, and am finally ready to start (once again) on a healthy living lifestyle. The Nutribullet will of course be only one part of my healthy living plan, but I'm hoping that a tasty and nutritious drink (incorporating fruit, vegetables, some nuts & seeds, etc.) made in the Nutribullet will be a good snack alternative sometimes.

Evening snacking is my worst habit, so that is the one I really need to find alternatives for (whether those alternatives be one *healthy* snack item, or activities to distract me from snacking, or both).

Also taking healthy lunches to work (rather than buying my lunches there) would be really good, but I find it hard to get around to preparing things for lunch as well as for dinner. Maybe taking leftovers is the answer.

Anyway, wishing everyone a very happy and healthy week .... and happy Presidents' Day to all my American friends!

Hello, Gorgeous! TAking leftovers is the easiest way I can tell you to do your lunches. Otherwise, maybe take fixing for a salad with some beans or meat on top. I try to grill 2 chicken breasts per week to slice up and have in my salads. But I am also topping my salads with black beans as well. They do help fill you up.

Night snacking is my addiction too! I caved last night and ate 2 cups of dry Fruit Loops. It was either that or search the house for ice cream. And I was not a fan of "searching" since I have told everyone to hide that mess from me. And my father brought in powdered donuts. Is he serious? Yes, he is. Mom and Dad have a basket in their room where a munchie-lover could feast for a week! They MUST lock their door from now on! HAHA

Best wishes to you and I am happy you got the NB so you can eat some great smoothies. I think I may have to pick one up myself... and some protein powder. I am really down on protein every day!

This sounds like a great idea. I use my blender to make smoothies with fruit, but I think this little gadget might work even better. Be sure and let us know how it works out for you. If it's good, I might have to consider getting one.

Also, thanks for the nice Spark Goodie! Hope you're having a great week.

I love little ways to make things easier and healthier. the best thing I ever bought was a NuWave, last year. I can take a frozen anything right out of the freezer and cook it, the fat falls away, and you don't have to heat up the oven, and the best part, there is no excuse for not eating healthy, most everything cooks in 10 minutes!

I always love the commercial for that!

Nights are hard for a lot of us. I also find weekends to be hard.

I have my new Nutribullet sitting in an unopened box near my front door. Need to open it and get started reading the book. We'll have to compare notes! emoticon Have fun! emoticon emoticon

I had bought a Nurtibullet and the danged thing stopped working after only about two months of use. I liked it a lot. I cannot find my receipt unfortunately so I think I'm out of luck at getting it replaced. I hope you have better luck with yours. The shakes were good. A word of advice: Freeze your fruit first that way it's more like a smoothie or slushy ...it really improves the taste. Good luck with it.

I finally broke down and bought a vitamix and I love love love green smoothies. I incorporate all sorts of nutritious ingredients in mine. Chia, Calcium Magnesium Powder, nuts, seeds, tons of different greens, bee pollen, coconut water or aloe vera juice for my base liquid. You can find tons of recipes online and on pinterest. Love me some pinterest. lol
Left overs sound like a good solid plan. There are also lots of resources on pinterest for bulk freezer meals that has been a god send to me. I get lazy and don't feel like cooking and I always have something in the freezer to throw in the crockpot, or individual servings to throw in the microwave. It has saved me more times than I can count.
