Half-Marathon Prep: Ran 12 miles, last pre-race long run

OK, you all just read the subject line, so you know I just did a long run. I missed last week's long run due ito being sick, so this was a "must do" run with the HM coming on March 2, two weeks away.

I ran a down and back on the trail (former RR line) that I described on Super Sunday. Today the outer leg was straight into a headwind I estimate at 15-20 mph. Certainly added to the workout. Did the first 6 miles in 66 minutes. On the return leg I was of course favored by a tailwind. I felt like I was doing great regarding form and all, but the change in wind helped much too. Anyhow I used my mantra - "FEB" and also "Easy, smooth, fast, and light" (Born to Run). My overall time was 2:00:30, meaning I averaged almost exactly a 10 min/mile pace and did the back 6 in 54 min (9 min/mile), a negative split.

Chowed down afterward at the Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet and enjoyed a long hot shower at the gym. This helped my confidence. Next week I'll run part of the race course, @8 miles.
