Changing Mind Set From Maintenance Mode Back To Weight Loss Mode (Warning Long Post)

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Just finishing up New Year New You Winter 2013 Amethyst BLC Team Challenge with a gain Each week I slowly got heavier and got out of my Maintenance range. Which is not good. I was amazed how I made it through the holidays then came mid January then I expanded and got really lazy with my eating & workouts.

Next weekend will be our starting weigh in for 2013 Casual Travelers Winter to Spring then shortly after that Spring 2013 Amethyst BLC Team Challenge should kick into gear.

Time to go back to weight loss mode again I got way to comfortable in Maintenance mode. This morning I weighed in at 146.1 which was back in my range 137.74 to 146.26 goal 142.

I have one more weigh in for New Year New You Winter 2013 Amethyst Wednesday hoping for a good weigh in to end challenge.

I made it to gym after work yesterday (which I usually never do for a Saturday) The gym has a hydro massage bed my incentive to go and workout is I will sign up after my workout to use the hydro bed as a treat so far it has been a great motivator.

As this is lent season I am giving up my sweets so far so good I have been sticking with my planned foods that I bring to work and Friday I beat the emoticon monster I had a greek yogurt instead.

Plus I really do need to be good as I purchased a Google Chrome Notebook from QVC it will be paid off by my 2nd anniversary of maintenance. Bigger need and pressure I receive a sparkmail on 2/13 that I was named "SparkPeople Motivator" which came as a very big surprise ot me Thank you who voted for me I have much to live up to now.

Treadmill jog today pace was 13 minutes 40 seconds 2.56 miles in 35 minutes not bad if I do say so emoticon.

I will be back at goal weight by April 20th no doubt in my mind. I will be jogging on treadmill at a pace of 13 minutes, I will have dropped body fat % ( right now I'm at about 30.5% shooting to be about 28%) by that time as well.

I am so looking forward ot my next 2 challenges. I am ready for success.

You can do it. I am also working on getting up pounds down. It is hard to switch back to a losing mode when you are enjoying maintenance.

You seem happy and accepting yourself! Good luck on your challenges.

We are all real people with real struggles! Thank you for sharing your lows as well as your highs. Both are inspiring and motivating!

Best advice I can think of is don't own those extra pounds. You have them for a few weeks then you drop them. I do the same for pounds lost....I don't own them until they are off for a couple of weeks. That's when they stick on or off! I read somewhere that when you get discouraged about a gain do an average over time. If the trend is still a loss then call it a loss and strive for a greater loss as needed.

Congrats and keep Sparking! emoticon

Sounds like you took a little reset break, that's all. We all need to relax a bit every now and then. But it's so easy to get back on track, isn't it? Let's make the challenge OURS.

Go Casual Travelers! emoticon

    hi Linda
Good luck on your new set of goals. YOU CAN DO IT....as you very well know.
That hydro massage bed sounds like heaven. That would sure get ME to the gym. Isn't it kind of nice to kick into "Loss gear" again? Maintenance doesn't have the excitement although it is equally important. good luck to you ...go get em girl!

Today I spiked my all time high on maintenance and am ready to get back at it today. I spiked because of excess sugar and fat the last three days. I feel like even when I'm in maintenance I'm in weight loss mode, because secretly I'm not happy with my goal weight. Not quite. I can be content at this weight sometimes, but other times I just want to go lower. I never feel like I've really arrived. And I have made it to the one year mark at 144 as my midrange. The last couple of days I've not been happy.

C'mon, we can do it! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good for you for spotting your upward trend and taking action before things got out of control. You're already back in range and I have no doubt that you'll be back where you want to be in no time. Good luck!

We're in the same boat as well as the same plane! Ceriously has a post on the Challenge page where she mentions a conversation about putting on weight after becoming a team leader. I must say that's happened to me. I think I spend too much time on team posts which leads to my neglecting the basics; I am resolving to do my trackers etc first in future! emoticon

Linda, you never cease to amaze me. I sincerely admire you level of hardwork and determination. You set goals, you have a clear plan and path towards them, and you never quit when you encounter bumps along the way. And 35 minutes on the treadmill at jog place? Amaze balls!!! Sheesh, I can't even jog on that darned thing....Thanks for sharing Linda!!

PS: I say you are successful already!!!

I like that you already have plans in mind on how you are going to get back into work mode and kick the weight's butt. You truly are a motivator for me, and although I think I can appreciate the pressure that you might feel, take it lightly.. just your honesty is motivating too!!!
