Saturday was certainly a fun-packed night. I managed to get the swing dance event across town around 8:30 pm. This was only my second time going to this dance venue, so I didn't know many of the regulars. Thankfully, near the end of the night I was able to become acquainted with many of the dancers. And as a bonus I was reminded of another swing dance venue that happens on Tuesday nights. So at this point I think I could manage a Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday swing dancing outing. Each time I go I dance for at least 2-3 hours, therefore I know I'm burning up some calories in the process :)
Another positive aspect from last night. I consumed no calories when up and about on the social outings. I had all the calories I needed by 5pm that day, so I didn't have any need to munch or drink caloric drinks later on in the night. The Mesa swing dance event ended around 11 pm, but I wanted to spend a little longer socializing so I stopped by my favorite dive bar on the way home. Played a fun game of shuffleboard and danced on the floor with new friends.
Since I got back later than 2 am, I slept in this morning. I was rather hungry when I woke up so decided to have my brunch first and exercise second. I had 1/2 lb of calf liver with Greek yogurt sauce, green beans, plain baked yam, and an avocado. I took a 60 minute walk with my dogs and then finished up some chores such as laundry and kitchen cleaning. I find that the cleaner my home environment is, the less stressed and more focused I become.
Goals for today:
1. Get groceries for next week -- calf liver, frozen spinach, stevia, distilled water, yams, greek yogurt
2. Drink 64 ounces of water
3. Research project
4. Swing dance event at 6pm (???maybe go if enough time???)
5. organize home belongings
7. 1 hour at the gym -- split between cardio and strength training
