What a Week!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Let me start by saying I am still in awe of all the comments I have gotten on my last blog. I feel so honored for it to have been voted as a "Popular Blog Post". I have also acquired several new friends as a result of that. WooHoo!

A combination of things made this past week a challenge. I tried to respond to all who had public pages and commented on my blog and that was a little time consuming but I wanted all to know how much I appreciated it. There were also the normal things that need doing, like taking the car in to be serviced and weekly shopping, etc. I also had to tweak my routine some too. DH works evenings so we have our main meal of the day at noon. Tuesday Evening I was invited to a surprise party for a dear friend who was turning 60. The party was at Red Lobster. I knew I was not going to deprive myself when there. I had not eaten there for about 6 years and I love seafood! I managed to eat a light breakfast & lunch and then ordered a meal like the other 24 people attending. Friday night DH was off work and we were invited to a friends for dinner and games afterward. Once again I ate light at breakfast and lunch and didn't worry about dinner. I just took a reasonable portion and no seconds. I even allowed myself a chocolate chip cookie when they were brought out. I am happy to say that I still managed to lose a pound this week so I am still on track for the 13 pounds in 13 weeks challenge I am in.

I wish everyone a wonderful week!

emoticon I am learning a lot here on SparkPeople and how to deal with social outtings is one. I joined sparkcoach and one of the video segments addressed this and gave great tips - it was also very timely as I was about to go out to dinner with my honey and I still wanted to stay on track (which I did). I didn't lose any, but I didn't gain any either! Yay! Keep up the good work and congrats on your popular blog!

Way to go! I really like the way you were able to enjoy your week and still stay on track. In the end that is the only way we will be able to maintain this new lifestyle. Keep up the 13 pounds in 13 week challenge! emoticon emoticon

emoticon Good for you, Martha! I've heard from others that a little loosening of the tight reins (as long as MODERATION is the theme) has actually helped them continue to lose, or even break a plateau. Sounds as if you also employed the sensible strategies ... like planning and making sure you ate lightly the other two meals. Nice work!

A pound a week is AWESOME - you must be proud of yourself and encouraged at the same time. I'm standing here cheering for you!!!

And all that connecting you did in response to your blog...I KNOW that was exactly what the people you wrote to needed to hear. You're such a winner, really, and I'm glad to know you!
