Today I did the Hiit Max Reps challenge that was posted recently on Body rock. It took me 45 minutes to do it all and I had to modify a few things. The rounds with three minutes of cardio we bothering my knees at first (I was trying to do high knees) my my ankle and knee joints wanting nothing to do with that so I did a light jog. I set my gymboss timer application for three minutes for those portions and I went for it.

Well the three minutes felt a little long for me to jog in one place so I decided that I would jog around my apartment. I ran small circles in my living room and then moved into the kitchen and bedroom. My cat was laying on the bed and was looking at me like I was nuts the whole time.

Overall, the workout was great. I feel sufficiently sore. Along with the three minutes of cardio interspersed through the workout I modified only one other exercise. The "spider pushups" or whatever it was Lisa called them were very advanced for me and I ended up modifying the move to start from a "girl pushup" stance. I still got the ab workout from them and up until the last workout or so, all my pushups these last three weeks had been girly ones. I was able to do the walking pushups in proper form only on Friday. I will get there. I also took the pushup out of the Burpee because at that point I was exhausted and couldn't push my body any further.

I was proud of myself for finishing and while my 45 minute time wasn't necessarily as fabulous of a time set by other body rockers that posted on the website, I did my best and that's really all I can strive for. I'm not here to "beat" anyone else in the fitness category and there are going to always be people who are better than I am and there are others that are working up to where I am. The important thing is that they are still working and they are on the journey to find their own personal bests.

I also went out and bought myself a new pair of training shoes today. They were clearance stock at the Nike outlet store. My current Nike's are on their last legs and are probably why my ankles and knees were bothering me. They are a larger size than the last pair I bought. I bought an 8 last time, which is a typical shoe size for me, but they were way too narrow and generally gave me pain. I bought a 9 today and I have to say, I felt the difference. They were MUCH more comfortable. I can't wait to try them out with my workout tomorrow.

    Good job! Modifications just mean that you are listening to your body. Sounds like a hard workout.
