Sunday Afternoon

Have not been doing well with my eating this week. Thanks Easter candy! I cannot resist a box of chocolate. I have cooked a lot of veggies though. I made a tasty chicken enchilada soup this week that was muy tasty! Yesterday, I braised so cheap little steak cuts over a bed of carrots and leeks. I poured a small can of V-8 juice over the veggies. It made a nice pot liquor to sauce the side dish of cous cous I prepared mixed with some green peas. The kids enjoyed this meal too.

I was losing my zeal for fitness activities, but I think I'm back on the wagon again. I skipped a day for no apparent reason. I did several short sessions this week so I was unable to reach my weekly calorie-burning goal last week. Today I went for nearly an hour to get a good start on this week's goal.

The one goal I'm doing great at is glugging my water. Yay water! If only 64 ounces of water was all it took to get us thinner. I am doing my water!

Hope all of you are having a better time of it than I am. I am going to watch myself the rest of today and tomorrow so maybe I can be near my low weigh-in from last week. I knew it was too good to be true to get down so low, but I really need to get on the good foot to bust down into a new decade! I need to get my focus back!

  When I get tired of my exercise routines I switch it up - lately I've been working in my house instead-cleaning a ton-you can work up a nice calorie burn getting your house all cleaned up for sure :) I also like to put on music & do my own made up routines or dance for fun-that gets me out of the slumps of the same old.

    This is the time of year that things get tough for all of us.. Always a boring time of year. They are talking about a hugh snow storm headed our wayby the end of the week. I hope it slides by us but we will see. They say it could be 8 to 12 inches.
All we keep saying is at least it is almost the end of Feb. so not much winter left. Hang in there and we shall conquer the winter and head in to the spring with "spring" in our steps.

    Like you, I have to get out tomorrow and go on my walk through the desert. Just the act of getting out helps but the decision to get out is the tricky thing. We are all on this path of wellness together and it helps to check in to get that boost we need to keep going. Your meals sound great and healthy. I had a piece of dark chocolate tonight too. We can't say no to ourselves all the time, as long as we get back on track right away. It is something I have to learn. I am making a promise to myself, that I will get out for some sort of physical activity at least four times this week. Are you game?

    Did not even know it was easter so no candy. I think we all lose our zeal for exercise this time of year, which is why we need are friends even more to kick us in the hind-side to get us back up and get moving lol

    I've been having food issues here, and being in the house with husband, mealtimes keep coming by and he wants cakes, muffins and candy around so oh dear oh dear oh dear.
I haven't done much for exercise and I fear a weigh in! sigh.

    I so get you - I am now 51 and last year found myself over fifty, overweight and unemployed. It is a good time to regroup, use the time to get back on track - and focus on one thing at a time. Good for you for getting the hang of drinking all that water. It's one I struggle with all the time. I find that when I am all over the map with the food and exercise that I need to slow down my mind and just imagine the steps to where I want to go. Create that neuropathway in your head - and then do it one step at a time.... it's okay to be off track now and then. One step forward... then another and another - slow and steady wins the race. emoticon

    This can be a difficult time of year to stay on track... the thermometer takes a dive and comfort foods come calling. But hang in there! Let's keep going with the water, and it WILL make a difference!
