I Didn't Want to do It..

Sunday, February 17, 2013

but, I did. I did not want to exercise today. I had myself so set for riding JC that it wasn't in my plan. Alas, it is only 16 degrees here so it is a bit cold to put a bit in the horse's mouth not to mention not really good for their lungs. I made myself do 40 minutes on the treadmill and an additional 40 minutes of Walk It Out. emoticon

I discovered an interesting fact yesterday. It says that 2,000 steps is a mile. I find that very interesting because all of my pedometers and my fitbit say I don't get to a mile until I do 2500 steps. I think these little gizmos are discriminating against short people. I don't get it. No wonder my little gizmos tell me that I only did 3 mileswhen Leslie Sansone says, "You just did 4 miles," . How do I lose a mile? The rest of the world doesn't lose a mile hmmmm emoticon

I am now ready to review the Fitbit One. I can definitely say I like it much better than I did the Ultra. First of all, it just feels sturdier. Also, I think it tracks steps better and I do like the little rubber case it comes with. The Ultra had the worst little plastic clip. I never used it. I have also decided I really like the Fitbit site. I have fun challenging my fellow Sparkers. They keep me motivated to keep walking. I also like that my scale goes straight to the site so I always know what my body fat is. I have the Fitbit Aria scale and I love it. It doesn't jump all over the place. The other thing I like about the site is it tells you your calories burned to eaten ratio and whether you have fallen above or below where you are supposed to be. Whatever you track on Spark automatically syncs to Fitbit. In a nutshell, I would definitely recommend the One and the Fitbit site. emoticon

Okay, now I have had a lazy day, and was even thinking maybe I would just relax. Now, after hearing that you got your steps in I have to do the same. Thanks for inspiring me!

You can adjust your stride for the Fitbit. I think there's a setting on the site.
I stopped syncing my fitbit to SP because it included all my daily activity calories burned. It kept telling met that I needed to eat more.

See how that works??Instant motivation,, to ride or to tread.. J.C got to spend the day munching oats and watching "Fury" and "The Lone Ranger" emoticon ,,,you picked up some steps!!

If you want to warm up his bit, bring it indoors overnight and/or sit on it for a half hour!! LOL!! Easiest way I can think of,, I do not think they make warmers for them yet like at the OB-GYN with those speculums...

Good for you!! You go girl!! emoticon emoticon
Did you measure your stride for the fitbit? I find it all confusing, since like you said 2000 is generally a mile, but mine has more steps to a mile too, since I measured my stride. But, when we use these gadgets -whatever they are, it really does a better job for us keeping track! Since wearing my Heart Rate monitor, I found I burned more calories than I thought-when I was just going by what SP says. emoticon emoticon

Hey, if you only lost a mile, you are doing great - maybe you will lose something else as BIG as a mile. I wonder how many miles you have lost over time - a million or even just a few. Keep up the great work.

It sounds like the fitbit is a good deal for you. Thank you for the recommendations. Have a great weekend and an even better week this week.
