A few weeks ago I blogged about taking a day off each week to eat off plan and not workout (doesn't have to be same day). I've decided that I don't really need the off-plan day. I am still taking the rest day from exercise, especially now that I've added another 30 minutes of biking each day.
Back to the eat-off-plan-day, I was thinking, why have a day of indulgence each week when I can build any indulgences into my calories for the day? This doesn't mean that there won't be a day when I exceed my calorie limits but I am no longer going to plan on doing so. When it happens, I will take it in stride and try to balance out the overage during the rest of the week.
I totally forgot to tell you guys about two victories. Friday night I had dinner on the run because my daughter had a performance and I had to leave straight from the office to get there. I went to Boston Market and had 1/4 white chicken without skin, thai chili sauce, garlic dill potatoes (1/2 serving), steamed veggies and a cornbread. I planned for the meal so it was within range and I knew exactly what I wanted to order. Due to some lady who kept touching every plate of food the server put on the counter, he had to remake my meal 3 times. He offered me a soda to make up for the wait, I said no thanks, he then offered me a dessert, I said no thanks and left, Score!
Yesterday, I went to a birthday party with my daughter themed "Cupcake Palooza" I'm proud to report I did not have any cupcake nor did I have any of the ice-cream cake that was offered several times. I sat with the other moms who were eating their cake and I did not feel deprived. Hmm, guess I do have some willpower.
