February 16th. What's the deal with all the 55 reminders?

Sunday, February 17, 2013

For some reason that # has been pooping up in my brain space lately. Seems like everywhere I turn I've been seeing that ole # 55. Popular T V show the 5, speedlimit signs, speedometer hilighted on the 55, even read in the paper the other day about the history of 1855. 1st. bridge was built over the Mississippi. Singer sewing machine motor was patented.
1955 Churchill resigns, Jaun Peron was ousted, who were they you young bucks ask? West Germany became a sovereign state. Rosa Parks refuses to sit in the back of the bus. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof wins the Pulitzer.
My first tractor was a Farmall 400, I recently bought one to restore, you guessed it, It's a 1955. My brothers first car was a 55 Chevy, took my beautiful bride to our first prom in it, have a picture of us in one of my past blogs.
I kept hitting the 5's on the Spark wheel and even hit 500 one day this week, I just think someone was trying to remind me of how important that # is Feb. 16th..
O K, It finally HIT me! My Good Looking Better Half and I have been married 55 years, for that I congratulate her, she's a good one and a "keeper". Marriage is a hard job but so is anything in life, you have to put forth over 100% effort 24/7. Thank you Sweetie for 55 good ones!
Leave you with this sermon for the day.
Happiness Keeps you Sweet!
Trials keep you strong!
Sorrows keep you human!
Failures keep you humble!
Success keep you glowing!
But only God keeps you going!
Have a GREAT day!

Isn't life interesting how things pop up to remind us of things, or to confirm, etc. ? I'm so happy for you both.
Did you do something special?

You did it again. What a wonderful blog! You should be a writter. So wonderful written! I learned something from your blog about you using Jim's vechile for taking your gal to the prom. I would have be gone from home at that time. That is ONE time you & brother were being civil to each other so Sis did not have to separate you.
What wonderful memories & so well written. You have great talent. I am so proud of you. So glad you are MY Baby BROTHER! Love you Sis

The digital clock pops up 5:55 and the speedometer hits 55,000. My husband had a rash of 55s about two years ago. He never did figure it out. Glad you found the subliminal clause. Your dear wife is also lucky to have a caring husband. It takes two to make a marriage work.

Sweet! This is so sweet and inspirational. It is also the sum of the numbers one through ten. I don't know if that is noteworthy - just thought I would tell you. Thank you, Skeeter. It is snowing here again big time and this too is humbling and we are baking some butter-milk bread for later today. Smells good and mouthwatering already!
